Catholic schools teach science and evolution. I had an excellent science education and was far ahead of my public school piers when I went to public high school. The Pope and other theologians within the Catholic Church accept evolution as it is explained by scientists, the age of the universe as billions of years old and even the possibility of life elsewhere in the universe. Catholics are not young earth creationists or biblical literalists.
