Why would the furthest planet from the Sun not be covered in ice and look like a desert? Space Magic? These things confuse me
-
Thats because Mars is red and not the furthest from the sun
-
Oh my God, Xx Post It xX, you can't just ask planets why they aren't white.
-
....... YOU'RE confusing me.
-
Can't fix stupid.
-
Based on the Destiny map, there isn't even a sun. WHY ISN'T EVERYTHING DARK?!? HOW CAN WE ALL SEE???!? Obvious troll is obvious...
ly a troll
-
Why is Uranus not.... Wait never mind
-
Really? Mars is the closest planet to earth!! While yes ice has been found on Mars. It's not an ice planet. In fact if you did even the slightest bit research you would know that it's a dry and sandy dessert across the whole surface of the planet. The extremely high iron content of its soils give the planet a bright redish orange tint that's can be seen from earth. Thus the nick name "the red planet"
-
I really hope by "furthest planet from the Sun" you ACTUALLY mean "furthest planet from the Sun (that we get to explore), in Destiny".
-
Your and IDIOT or troll

A reminder to stay in school...
-
I don't think there's water on mars for ice but to cold enough, it's roughly -80degrees Celsius on average

Bro I hope your not being serious? Mars the farthest? That was either a really bad troll or need to go back to school.
-
Edited by Kudos2Derrick: 1/27/2015 10:16:51 PMMars is one of the closest planet to the sun.
-
Well, in order for it to be white with ice/snow, there would need to be water there, and while Mars once may have had water, it doesn't seem to have very much now. Then again, with the traveller, who knows?
-
Mars is the 4th planet. Uranus is further and it's brown hahaha. Seriously though. Hard to answer when your references or names are all wrong
-
Giving you the benefit of the doubt, you probably mean the farthest planet in the game. But as others have noted the red comes from the high iron oxide levels. Clearly the traveler's terra forming power is not understandable to our frame of thinking. Here's an easy way to remember the order of the planets - My Very Easy Method Just Set Up Nine Planets. First letters align with Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Granted you have to remember that Pluto has been unjustly demoted.
-
... Mars is not even REMOTELY the furthest planet from the sun. Not to mention that ice formed from water is only white if it has air or other gases trapped inside of it, and you have a two-fold problem. 1- there is limited, if any at all, atmosphere, so no gaseous bubbles to be trapped in the ice. 2- there is no liquid presence on the surface of Mars to freeze, let alone solid evidence that would count as proof of water being present, so no ice in the first place. I'm sorry for the rant, but that question was just too damn stupid to let go.
-
Please research questions like this in private. In fact, this is something you should have learned in elementary school.
-
Mars is not the furthest planet from the sun...it is within the inner solar system and thus still close enough to the sun to be not frozen. You are mistaking it for something like uranus.

If this is a troll, it's a dumb one.
-
Have you not seen pictures of Mars? In real life it is orange. So I'd say bungie was pretty accurate in their portrayal of it. Mercury on the other hand I'm not so sure about.
-
The furthest planet in our solar system from the sun is Neptune, Mars is the next planet from Earth, no it would not be covered in ice even though it is a bit cold
-
Bad troll 1/10.

Dafuq did I just read?
