So a quick question. Why does the MA5 (all models) have a round counter and compass instead of a sight? How do you accurately fire it without a HUD or smart scope? I guess you don't which is why Marines die in two seconds. No helmet? Dead. No HUD whatsoever? Dead.

Part of the HUD is the Smart Link with the gun. In effect, all models of the AR do have "Smart Scope". How do they aim though without having a Smart Link? Well, you just do your best. And that's because all personnel are outfitted with a HUD on their helmets capable of smart link.
