Bungie! Deej!... What we really need from you, is for you to acknowledge that giving players the ably to make three of the same class was an oversight, and that is should be fixed. ASAP. Before the House of Wolves DLC hits this issue should be fixed. Recently players have been given free reign to make three of the same class, and then exploit the raid three times per week for almost an entire month. Flooding the game world with fake 32's. People with no integrity running rampant. I would support a delay for the House of Wolves, so that this issue can be fixed. Also, having the ability to share energy materials and currency's between vault space with characters needs to be reviewed as well.

  • What Bungie should have done after the VOG was cheesed. Was to just turn all the servers off, release a press statement that the game was being fixed and that it would be back up at later date. Find and ban hammer exploiters. But no, we as a culture encourage cheating by light handed punishments. Most of you don't even realize you are cheating, that's how bad it is. Now Bungie doesn't even have enough time to fix the real issues because everyone is exploiting everything and cheating.

  • Its not against any rules dude. You can have 3 characters, and do it however you want to

  • First off, there's no issue with being able to share materials and currency between characters. How can you see it as a problem that when you've spent 2 months with only one character doing VoG and stuff eventually obtaining a stockpile of ascendant materials? It isn't an issue to give your other characters stuff that you spent hard hours earning every step of the way. You've spent days upon days getting to where you are. It would make no sense at all for your new characters to be forced to start from the ground up and scrape by with 1 ascendant material a day, especially with the daily missions now offering higher difficulties and forcing players to be at higher levels to claim those rewards.Secondly, you aren't a "fake 32" for having multiples of one class. You're likely someone who got tired of RNG screwing them over after 400 hours of nothing but materials. If you think that having multiples of the same character class is an issue of integrity then I ask you to examine yourself. What if the people don't have the time to create new classes and grind for new armor? Would you just tell them that they shouldn't expect to get their money's worth out of the game? I wouldn't.

  • Ok, so I read the post again. You look at my stats and try to drag me into this, which you cant, and thats fine. Then you say the game is so hard and time consuming that it justifies cuting corners by cheating. Is that correct?

Ok, your points are a little vague. Its not about saving time. Its exploiting an oversite and its cheating.(three same classes) Ive spent alot of time playing. I think it makes things too easy sharing vault space. It needs to go. I would be happy to delete a character for that issue.

  • See man, I've got a 32 of each class. I know the time that is required to get those things. I've got every exotic weapon. I know how the RNG likes to screw with people. I've maxed my Grimoire up until Doubles came out. I know what it would be like if nothing was shared. Cheating is going against the rules of the game. Creating two hunters or even three is not against the rules. Making a rule that says that would literally limit your audience for no reason other than "because we say so." What about the people who might want a bladedancing Awoken but a Gunslinging Exo? You can't forget about personal reasons other than just saving time, and you can't expect everyone to be okay with having less options in a game that already offers very little outside of addiction. Also... I never said this game was difficult.

  • Lol. Not true. Have 3 toons of the same class is not cheating. Did they glitch to do this? No. Is have 3 of the same class making clearing the content easier for them and their friends (besides likely getting gear more efficiently)? No, they still need to do the fights 3 times. What they are doing is saying "i really like this class, so I'm going to focus my efforts on this toon. I will sacrifice variety for faster gearing and leveling of that gear." This is not an unfair advantage or exploit any more than someone not having a job is a game exploit. It allows the player to focus their time. Nothing prevents you from doing this yourself so you are not at any disadvantage. Bungie, of all the things you could change in this game, ignor this guy and keep this gsme mechanic the same. KEEP SHARED VAULT SPACE AND THE ABILITY TO HAVE 3 OF THE SAME TOON!

I'm pretty sure Destiny isn't the only game that lets you make multiples of the same class. Go elsewhere to be a special snowflake. This thread is about the community and the game as a whole, not you as an individual player and your desire to be elite.

  • No, I read your post: you feel having more than one toon of single class is cheesing or somehow an oversight. But unfortunately I fail to be impressed by your brilliance enough to agree. So let's try it again with elaboration for those who don't realize that their opinions aren't irrefutable facts : Destiny is not the only game that has allowed more than one toon of a single class. It won't be the last. There is no such thing as a "fake" 32. Assuming they didn't actually hack or cheat (and again, multiples of a single class is not cheating) if they are 32, they earned it in some fashion. As much as anything can truly be earned in a pure RNG reward system. I don't have to try to sound smart, when you're doing such a fantastic job of sounding ignorant. If you want to play three separate classes, do so. I have one of each myself, because I find maximum enjoyment by experiencing each class. But if someone wants to play two or three of one, because they simply don't like one or two of the classes or because they feel that it's more efficient to play as one to maximize their odds in the RNG? Let them Grow up and quit trying to force the other kids in the neighborhood to play by your arbitrary, self-imposed rules.

  • The only reason a player would make three of the same class is to exploit the raid RNG three times in one week. There is no other justification. I just blew you out of the water in two sentences. Thanks for trying though.

  • The developers themselves don't care if you make more than one of a class and have said so. There: blew you out of the water in one sentence. Just let it go. You'll enjoy yourself far more if you quit obsessing about how other people play, especially when the developer agree with those other people.

  • Playing the raid to get 3 rolls a week for one character type is not exploiting the RNG system. Is a guy that buys 10 power ball lottery tickets exploiting that system? No. They are increasing thwir chances of winning by buying more tickets. They paied money for those tickets. A player with three hunters is still playing the raid 3 times (are they cheesing the encounters? Cant say but that is a separate issue that is nit affected by having 3 of the same toon.) Boom. Blew you away !

  • Bungie is aware. They applauded it when they announced the first lvl 32 ever and described for all to read how to "exploit" the system to get raid gear quickly to hit max level in less than a week.

  • I am aware of the guy that cheated to 32 with Bungies consent. I'm just humbly trying to expose the double standards. In doing so, hopefully the cheap exploits won't make it into number 2. You can follow my posts, in the future, I'm going to go in depth more on the double standards with exploits.

  • Define double standard for me, because it doesnt seem like you are using it correctly here... That is not me trying to be a dick, but trying to fully understand what you are trying to say.

  • One double standard... is the materials for marks exploit that was actually never called an exploit but was removed a couple of months ago. The reason, was supposedly because it was too difficult and boring for people to go on patrols and collect materials. Some players were using this method to trade 50 mats for 5 marks and 25 rep. Thus, giving them an opertunity to skip crucible or vanguard and still max out marks every week. Now, I fail to see the difference between that exploit and the three same toon exploit. Both of those are, and were just as nefarious as cheesing raids. So Bungie needs to come out and say that the mats for marks exploit was in fact an exploit, and that they removed it because of that. Instead they have been hinding the real reason behind removing that trade option, by saying people were getting sick of collecting materials. Which is true, people were tired of that. But yet, they allow people to level three of the same toons to twenty, which isn't hard. Then use those same toons to run the raid three times a week or more, apparently. Also the introduction of commendations...designed to slow progress. Yet it's ok to use three same toons and spam raids all week. That's another double standard right there. I could go on...

  • Still not double standards. No group is being persicuted here. Everyone could paticipate in this game mechanic. And not an exploit because it functioned like intended. You think they didnt realize people would be able to far rep for gathering materials, god help who ever would want to do that... the slowest and most mind numbing way to get rep/marks but thats besides the point. That is the worst example of an exploit ever, and anyone could do it so not a double standard. They removed it cuz it was dumb. Why do you think people clammor to do the opposite? Cuz its way easier to farm marks for upgrade mats than the other way around. The more i read this im sure this is a troll, but had to respond just incase it was someone being serious. Would be furious of bungie made changes based on the comments and they went unopposed.
