Dark Below Required?!

So... I don't play Destiny much. You can probably tell by my stats. I honestly hate the game. It has a crappy story, unbalanced Multiplayer and just a whole lot of other problems I don't have time to explain. ANYWAYS I basically only play the game for the VoG and Skirmish with friends. When I heard there would be a Doubles Playlist I was really excited. It was the one thing that would've made Destiny a little more bearable (Still horrible though). So I signed in today, and I found that it requires the Dark Below DLC. Are you kidding me? How cheap do you have to be to not even let me play a multiplayer playlist w/o paying $20. It's stupid. On top of being an overall bad game, what makes it worse is that the only good parts are an extra $20 on top of the $70 I payed, expecting a full game. I know some reading this will say 'well the don't play the game' or other something else along those lines. But maybe someone can explain to me why I have to pay to play parts of this game that should've been in the full game.
My rant for the day.
TL;DR: Read the post!

Let's say that this is true for games in general these days. So 60 for the game and 20 for dlc (or the rest of the game, look at it however you want). After you have spent $80 in the year 2015 on a next gen system you now have a complete game. So basically you cheap bastards are mad because after more than a decade of a particular price point the price has risen. Get a grip.
