I think this is kind of hit and miss. I personally have never disconnected from The game, but I have friends that can't even play. While Bungie over uses the excuse "it's your connection" in many cases it's true. Obviously a Lan cable would be optimal over wifi, and some players I know disconnect more frequently when in a party due to increased bandwidth.
