Well my whole life I've been pressured about school and how I have to make the grades my father did (he is a doctor and made straight A's in school) and always tells me that I'm going to be a loser when I'm 18 because he thinks my grades aren't good enough. (I make Bs and C's) and he constantly tells me that I'm going to be working a minimum wage job and that I'm just a failure. I just have constant anxiety and pressure because I'm constantly told that my grades are bad and I won't get a good job

Your parents are fgts. Yes, good grades are important, but, in the scope of life, your grades earned during school ultimately amount to shit anyway. Here in Australia, the Year 12 certificate is equal to a Cert II. Yes, it is better to have a nice looking Year 12 certificate than to not have one (you need a Year 12 certificate if you want to qualify for Officer training in the military), but, in the end, it really doesn't matter what sort of grades you got in school.

Edited by Hellbent02: 1/12/2015 7:06:34 AMYour not your father and you shouldn't feel like you have to live in his shadow and live his life. You live your life the way you want as long as it makes you happy. I work a low paying job and still very much content with my life. If talking to your father about this won't work then there is nothing you can do for him except ignore his insults and live your own life. Just do your best as that's all that should be expected of you. A parent should be proud of their child regardless if even they make mistakes as we all do. All he should care about is that you are happy and in good health. Yes good grades are nice to have but ultimately it matters to what makes you happy. You can be filthy rich and sad all the time and be broke as hell and happy.
