There's a website (the one i'm with!) called Darkdemon that's probably your best bet at joining a community, much like the Flood, where you can get constructive criticism and stuff in Pivot, and they have a bunch of tutorials and stuff. Honestly, I learned just about everything I know on my own, but it does take a lot of practice and patience.
