• Really? Because Osman's orders to assassinate Halsey seemed to supercede any orders Laskey gave to Palmer. And for that matter, every time I've heard that Spartan-IV's were forced to choose between orders given by the UNSC and ONI, they went with ONI's orders.

 •
Because Osman's orders to assassinate Halsey seemed to supercede any orders Laskey gave to Palmer.
Osman ordered Lasky to have her killed in the Captain's Ready Room. After that occurred, Lasky presumably selected or informed Palmer on the mission, and later had second thoughts about the mission. Which we see in Episode 8. Palmer clearly had her own agenda of not wanting Lasky to take the fall for doing something morally right.
every time I've heard that Spartan-IV's were forced to choose between orders given by the UNSC and ONI, they went with ONI's orders.
There has never been such a scenario.

 •
There has never been such a scenario.
So, the Escalation comics and various other media don't count? Escalation ?13? (Whatever the most recent one is) has Lasky still wanting to take Halsey into custody, while Palmer still wants to follow Osman's orders. On that note, why does Palmer hate Halsey so much? There is a stark contrast between her treatment of Halsey and everyone else's.

 • She failed her mission. She wants to finish what she started. She dislikes her because of how she's been portrayed by ONI, and she feels she has ulterior motives. Which were later proven true. "She was locked up for a reason, Tom."

 • Ok. That makes sense. What doesn't, however, is this part. Halsey has been portrayed the same way to everyone aboard the Infinity, yet Palmer acts openly hostile towards Halsey, making her dislike of her very obvious. Everyone else, regardless of their feelings toward her, remains calm and collected. The way Palmer acts suggests a very deeply rooted and personal hatred toward Halsey.

 • Stupid -blam!-ing ONI. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have the Covenant Remnant. They're like the CIA of Halo.
