I'll walk you through it. 1. Play Crucible and Strikes with friends and you might get lucky. 2. Complete bounties to get faction experience. This allows for you to attain armour regardless of the RNG drops. 3. Play through lower-level daily and weekly challenges to receive engrams and strange coins. 4. Use strange coins to purchase gear from Xûr. 5. Completing bounties gives you a chance at receiving an exotic bounty. 6. Join a clan so you've got people to run through these activities with; it's tonnes of fun with a good group. (It'll be good to have a clan for when you get up to raid level as well).
