2 RepliesYou can't just have exotics and legendary by sitting there. I tried for months, and nothing came my way. This month I worked my ass off to get some good guns, and I got 5 legendarys, one exotic, two raid gear. In only two weeks, see how hard work pays off? ;)

Im kinda doing a painful grind in pvp for thorn by only using a sniper to get it(i love sniping!)... I think its fun to work toward something you know you are gunna get rather then endlessley slave away for that rng which may never give you an exotic for your efforts.

Hate to break it to you but you can't avoid grinding in some shape or form. The easiest way is to do Roc strikes. You get engrams, vanguard rank, and vanguard marks. Use the marks and rank to buy yourself some armor and guns. Hope RNG gives you exotics at the end of the strikes. Then use the blue engrams and hope for strange coins to buy an exotic from Xur. Otherwise you can do the nightfall, but since you're level 24 you won't be doing that for a while. When you hit 27 or 28 try VoG on normal. The gear's not great but it's a stepping stone. Plus you can always break the stuff down for resources. Also the odd chance for an exotic from certain chests or Atheon never hurt.

Spend those crucible marks to buy legendaries. As far as exotics, load up on crucible bounties. After you've done enough you'll get an exotic bounty which will require you to do about 5 specific challenges. Unfortunately, with the exotic bounty you might be required to do some PVE, but same goes for players like myself that play mostly PVE, I have to do exotic bounties that require me to play crucible. Edit: also for only playing 1 day, your expecting too much in too short of a time. Be patient, they will come. If your not willing to put in the time because you do not enjoy the grinding, this game might not be for you

The plateau between blue and Vanguard level 2 is one of the tougher spots. Find activities you like doing, switch it up sometimes, plot out how many of said activities it takes to get the rep and marks you need, and then forget about it and have fun. It'll take a couple weeks of regular play, but once you get all purps things get easier because you can do more stuff, like the Vault.

I wish I could go back to being broke. Every drop was so exciting. Now I'm on my fifth Gjallarhorn and won't get excited unless I get specific exotics. It's lame now; there's no excitement. Trust me, the grind is fun and rewarding.

6 RepliesBest bet is to grind for vanguard rank 2..that way you can buy lvl 31 gear....work on getting the marks for three pieces...xur will sell an exotic of the piece that you don't wanna buy..preferably a helmet since they cost 120 marks. You can max out 100 marks per week..
