If Ward of Dawn is only producing 2 orbs of light, you're doing it very wrong.
All you're doing by using self-res is enabling your team to continue being crap. They'll learn nothing other than "we don't need to be good, the self-reser will do all the work for us!",

There is a perk for ward of dawn that allows it to produce 3 additional orbs, but this takes away from other perks. Nothing says that a sun singer has to die to use self rez. I can usually get around 8 orbs with my sun singer if I use it on a group. + I melee kills can produce orbs.
