If you self-res to save your team, prepare to be doing that for as long as you play the game because it will always be expected of you.

My friend uses self res so when we do nightfalls together and our team mate dies he can get ready to revive me incase i cant drop my bubble and go down while trying to revive the kid we use self res only as a last resort if the whole team goes down

Such insane logic. Are you telling me you "never" die in the game?? The team plays no differently in the heat of a battle, but I bet the team certainly appreciates it when they're reborn near the end of a raid or strike and don't have to start over again. Cheers
