Ive never seen a warlock self res and save a raid in normal mode, but thats because usually they self res so we dont have to res them.
In hard mode you cant res anyone that dies, so its a wasted super unless the ONLY person that died is the warlock themself.
I wont dispute the value of self res in the nightfall because I agree that it is very useful, unless the burn is void, then i want to -blam!-ing kill any warlock that is a sunsinger.

Sorry to disappoint, but I have all 3 weapon slots for void in that situation, and since I solo the nightfalls usually, id rather have the self res, than the extra damage output of voidwalker.

We are talking about warlocks on strike teams. Your response makes sense, but the content is not part of the conversation. Obviously if you are a warlock soloing the nightfall self res is your best bet. If you have 2 other players with you, go void and blow shit up.
-
Same goes for my fireteam as well. Granted we rarely need it. But there are times where mistakes do happen.
-
But I should also mention that I have 3 chars to do it with and it depends which one (s) I have left. However, if I am on my warlock I will use the self res as I see no real reason for more dps than I already produce.

That is the benefit of how they designed the game, there are no differences in DPS between classes and subclasses. For the record though, I will never tell someone how to play their class, which is why when the burn is void i want to kill the warlock that uses sunsinger, but i wont make them leave (and its usually one of my friends/clanmates, who get a free pass on anything other then pure stupidity)

I hear you, personally I just dont see the point in using voidwalker all that much. I prefer the fire shield for my melee. The grenade would be extra damage and come in handy. The super would be more damage but I just dont care for it on pve that much.
