So tell me this, what if the whole team wipes in a strike or raid, then the sunsinger self revives, and runs around to save his teammates? Would you still consider them weak? This has personally happened to me before and I can not thank that warlock enough. It is not a crutch, it is an ability that can have some great use. Sure, people have gotten a little careless because of the second life, but at the same time, there are so many situations where that self revive can be the difference between a wipe or defeating a boss. Leave them alone.
This is coming from a Hunter by the way.

There is no "save his team mates" in the hard raid. I want my players to play to their potential, and self-res will always hold them, and their team, back. They become complacent and never improve.

Makes sense. Considering if everyone dies in the first part at the building of the first bridge with the knights and ogres, the Warlock can self res if he dies and save the whole team by getting to the end and getting everyone rewards. Also, if someone or people die while running from light to light in the beginning, the Warlock can offer to go revive them since they have self res, and if they die they can use it and revive their team members while having no weight of the darkness on them, holding them down.

And that makes it a crutch for people to rely on. Stop saving those people's arses and watch how they start to improve.

i don't care if they improve and just care about the completion

We're not going to wipe every single freaking time.
