Sunsinger can be great fun in PvP tbh
Funny as hell when you're running Radiant Skin and standing in a damage reducing or shield-adding Titan bubble (me and a friend do this often). The warlock can even survive bladedancers in that situation.

Void still has more potential for area denial/aoe kills.

It has one extra perk beside a grenade... Sunsingers can spam solar nades to cut off an area for a good 15 seconds. More with Sunbreakers. I don't use this type of setup as I play Skirmish almost exclusively (the exception being Iron Banner and bounties) and use only Sunsinger. Sure, you can deal a lot more damage within a couple seconds as a Voidwalker than a Sunsinger could ever hope to do, but Sunsinger can do much more over a wider range and for a longer time. All you need to do is learn good applications for each Subclass as I already have, exploit their strengths, and get the kills you want/need.

It's however you want to play but I just hate dying during animation lock as I've killed as many sun singers getting back up or popping it. It's funny.

I agree. People don't know when to correctly use it. Classes that have an animation upon super activation tend to not know the best time to use it, or panic then lose it. I wait for there to be the thin red line on my mini map as opposed to the giant red portion. This lets my animation become less of a burden and let's me one melee hit kill a guy then proceed to spam grenades.

As the guy below says. Solar grenades + those gauntlets I can't remember the name of can be absolutely ridiculous in PvP. You can make entire rooms burn for 10 seconds.
-
It's nice but inefficient at most times besides small rooms.

Pop super and start tossing them solar grenades. Mad aoe
