Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, [i]you're letting your team-mates down[/i].
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.

Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

Helps with wipes. Or just use radiant skin to tank but it's not as certain.

4 RepliesWell this officially fills my idiot quota for the day. A good SunSinger doesn't really use their special. It's only a last ditch efforts when reviving. Or atleast it's how it's supposed to be. It's a raid perk just like the Titan bubble.

I'm sitting at 100% intellect 100% discipline 100% strength When raiding of course I use my super mad amounts of times Get off me, lol XD

I have actually been told several times to "switch to fireborn" during a nightfall or raid regardless of how well my Obsidian Helm + Nova Bombs were helping. I personally dislike the idea of never having a super. I would rather play safer/better and throw bombs than have a res waiting on me. Nowadays I don't say anything about what I'm using and hope nobody notices my grenades/nova bombs, lol.

3 RepliesSo a sunsinger who is holding a super for the good of their team to ensure they get through a raid or Nightfall is 'selfish'? Wow...that's backwards logic. If anything, a Sunsinger that has to hold onto it has to rely on their super LESS and their ability with the rest of the game more. It's not like supers regenerate instantly. If you cant hold your own and self res you will eventually die quickly again anyway and will be dead weight to the team. If Sunsinger self res refilled fast I might be more prone to agree with you. It takes a few minutes for it to refill depending on the perks you have on your armor though so you can't really lean on it that heavily as a single player as a crutch. When i die in a nightfall, first thing I do is ask my team if they want me to self res or hold it. 99% of the time they tell me to hold it. That doesn't sound like letting the team down to me. In a raid, if I'm holding a gate open or, if the game unceremoniously glitches (I know...that never happens in the raid) and I get killed, I have the chance to come back and still help the team move forward. And this is assuming of course that I'm holding the super for res. A lot of times I'll use it and melt the world with the sun with my praxic fire equipped. I think it's self righteous and awfully judgmental to assume that Sunsingers with self res are not team players. You can have selfish players in any role in the game who want the most kills. If you're going to be an elitest and automatically rule out sunsingers you're being judgmental about that person's style of play without giving them a chance. Self res isn't for the weak. It's for the person who is willing to help out his team.

I love when I have my super ready because I can be a lot bolder and test the waters while others are too scared to die. I push the limits and learn from those deaths. I rarely die when I don't have my super and I still play aggressively but know how far my reach is. Being a sunsinger has made me an overall better player. Definitely not a crutch.

5 RepliesSo wait. You ask people if they use self res, and if they say yes you turn them down? And THEY aren't the team player? You do realize you don't have to actually save it right? You do realize you can switch to it at any point and time(assuming you stay sunsinger duh) prior to popping your super right? It's situational for potential wipe scenarios. But hey everyone wipe because team player guy here hates team players.

3 RepliesAs a warlock that frequently uses self Rev I have to defend this because I am constantly at the front lines helping my team if my team mate goes down and is in a bad spot I can jump in there revive him and if I go down I can save myself and cover our butts with a barrage of grenades to keep enemies at bay. My teammates rely on me more than any one else because I have the balls to do what needs to be done for the team.

I have self res currently set on my Warlock. If the team I'm in is good then I'll swap to Voidwalker instead. Last time I used self res was to run out under heavy fire and basically commit suicide to revive my fallen team mates, then self resurrected and was straight back in the game.

Self rez is incredibly useful in many ways I'm warlock through and through in nightfall I use self rez for the obvious reason and on hard mode vog I use self rez too as rezzing is useful too, however everything else I use void walker or radiant skin especially as vs crota any deaths trigger over soul so self rez is kinda useless if no one takes the over soul out

7 RepliesSo, you're labeling every Warlock in the game that uses self res as a bad player? I'm sorry but, you're being completely and utterly bias. Not every Warlock is a bad player. Example, myself. In fact, the majority of raid groups want Warlocks. There are easier ways to actually getting around a level with the Warlock's self res ability. Such as getting 'rid of the de buff in the Crota's End raid titled, "Presence of Crota". Which by the way if you didn't know, helped the team out as a whole. Also, the oracles, if everyone wants to stay at the top. Whether you consider cheesing bad or not, Warlocks have more use than any other class, Titans being the second most useful with their Weapons of Light shield. Now, if you want to talk about bad classes that have no use in raids, even in PvE as a whole, let's talk Hunters... They still have no use in the new raid besides running to the chest after the bridge. Even then, a Warlock can easily do what the Hunter does. I'm not making this into a rant, however, I'd love for you and people like you to stop bitching and taking down the majority of the community, yes, Warlocks are the most played as. One more thing, stop being biased. Did a Warlock shit on you or something?
