What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, [i]you're letting your team-mates down[/i].
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.

1 ReplyWe can generate orbs without supers. I drop 2 orbs every time I melee something to death. Hunter and Titans are pussies since they rely on their super so much. Mine hardly gets used unless I'm saving the entire team from a wipe. The OP is just mad because while he's dead I'm running around killing everything and sealing our victory. I'd be mad too if I never contributed shit to my team. Every raid I do I'm the last man standing without self Rez. Go hide in your bubble or turn invisible like the pussy you are.

2 RepliesIgnorant comment. Self res has the added benefit of grenade spam and the ability to generate orbs. Even without self res it's a very useful tool to help the team recharge their supers. I typically use it to kill thralls at Crota to help my team out as its way more useful than Voidwalker. I agree its useless in PvP though.

So is a blade dancers heal while using arc blade. So is a titans shield when using his bubble. Remember all those are just part of the modifier of the base function of the super. How ever someone modify their own ability should be up to them

3 RepliesI use all abilities especially when spitting out orbs, and I've clutched plenty raids with self res, use my super for increased armor or all cool downs for my team. it really depends on the situation. Also I'm a die hard for MVP. Funny how I die the least in the raid, it's also funny how everyone else leaves ppl behind for the warlock to go pick them up. ITS TERRIBLY FUNNY how Titans use a fvcking bubble with weapons of light on the Thrall portion dumbasses. It's uber Funny when at the very end of forming the bridge portion (thrall cave) and cross by myself if need be. Its ultra funny when I'm 1 of maybe 3 out of the 6man team who spits 12+ orbs at a time and the remaining 3 never touch there supers. Hunter be like- "it's all good guy I have blade dance /invisible. I'll clear it up" (falls in whole or leaves team behind or get ran thru by an orge) Titan be like- "here guys, (spawns bubble with weapons, however half the teams in front of him moving to next light) I could tell you of the great struggles...but now it pointless anyways Believe me there's plenty of retarded gamers!!! But only 3 classes of guardians on a 6man team with amazing and essential abilities rarely anybody uses properly [spoiler]except maybe a handle full of competent team players[/spoiler] Just wait till the hard raid comes out then all the lil b****** will start to show

3 RepliesIt's great when the boss is almost dead, and then goes berserk and kills everyone. Because then the 'lock can revive everyone and they can resume Ending Crota, or shattering the Vault of Glass. All in all, it's about strategy, and not having a balanced team is bad strategy. Maybe that's the reason raid groups can have 6 people, one of each subclass?

3 RepliesI was running some new people through VoG last night. We had both relics and were defending the conflux. Everyone else died, and I used my self-res to get back up and grab the shield once more. Even though our other guy had dropped his shield and we were still about to die, I was able to put down a few ground slams and get the checkpoint right before Expunge killed me again. Saved us at the nick of time from having to start over on gatekeeper. Pretty much the exact opposite of "holding the team back".
