You can obtain 331 weapons right now without the dlc, so that argument doesn't hold much water. The way I see it, VoG, the best part of the game by far, has now become pointless. Level 30 armor and 300 weapons are useless. As things continue to advance, there just won't be any reason at all to ever play it again. They need to make VoG a viable loot spot again. This could mean upping the level past 30, or having Atheon drop a "Crux of Crota" style item that would act the same way as an exotic shard, and reset the item for an added stat bonus. Either way, if they don't make some change, people will just stop playing it. Some already have. Once I get my Mythoclast, I know I will be done with it, which is sad. The way I think it should have been handled is any VoG armor that dropped post dlc should have been buffed to a cap of lvl 31. New Vanguard, Crucible, and faction armor should have been buffed from 29 to 30, instead of 31. All new weapon drops should have been 331, including VoG raid weapons. Upgrading your old exotics should have cost less, and been done through someone other than Xur. All exotics dropped from anywhere should be pre buffed, instead of holding the VoG exotics back.

I disagree with the " making new raid weapons less important". I think people will always want new weapons and try to get them. Especially if they have good perks but it would be pretty nice if we could upgrade or favorite weapons until we get some of the newer weapons. I do think your idea of getting a random drop of something like the "core of Atheon" would be the best thing to do and then take it to xur or the gunsmith and pay like 5k to upgrade but I think it would be best to go up to 331. The only problem I could see is ppl complaining about not being able to upgrade the vex mythoclast.

That's the thing. This is a "mmo" (not really) so you never go back. You stay forward, and you release new weapons and armor, making the old ones less important. This is how it has been for the past 10 years if you have ever played an online rpg. I didn't say anything about the new raid's weapons, i said the raid itself. Allowing their consumers to run the Vault of Glass and obtain 331 weapons makes the entire DLC worthless to them. That leaves no incentive to even play it, when you can simply play the old material and obtain the exact same high level weapons from it, with even better perks. They will never allow that. That would be the same as allowing people to obtain level 32 gear in the V.O.G, since people want more ways to do it. The fact is, this is an "expansion," regardless of how small, and you never go back to your old material, you push newer weapons and armor on the new areas, trying to motivate players that want to be the best, to partake in that new section to obtain it.

I'm not disagreeing or arguing your point. I totally argue with you but still think it would be nice to have my fav weapons be useful later down the road. Just in case I can't get a new raid weapon I want or maybe it's just not as good? What do you think about the exotics? Do you think they should of left them at 300 with no upgrades and made some new ones? It's kind of the same thing from my point of view.

Oh, no, i know, but they don't care. They want everyone to progress, which means they want everyone to spend more money on the dlc if you want to reach the highest level possible. They realize that they are going to have to keep releasing more and more, and this will only cause problems for everyone that misses the weapons/armor they had at one point. Everything will be obsolete in another two months when the House of Wolves is released.

Ya that's what sucks... Like it's nice always having some new weapons and armor pieces to grind for and hope for... But when they make our current armor and weapons isles it sucks because then we have to start all over. At least it feels that way.. Can you imagine people's reaction if lets say the ghorn and ice breaker didn't get an upgrade later down the road?? Many people including myself would be pissed lol. It sucks all the stuff you've been grinding for and spending hours trying to get becomes worthless over night :(.

That is how mmos have always worked. From wow to other ones, once a new expansion is out, all of those weapons that you loved so much, become weaker than that. They will ALWAYS allow you to upgrade your exotics through Xur or by randomly finding the item again, but as far as legendary raid weapons go, those will become useless when newer content is out. They are aware that we are upset, but there isn't much that they want to do about it.
