Did you machine it yourself? I'm a machinist, and might make some stuff like that when I get my own CNC machine :)

 • Did it all myself, I used to me a fabricator in a past life... now a boring desk job. Fortunately I still have access to a nice shop and don't mind getting dirty, or cut, or burned... :P

 • Whenever I take someone into the fab shop, I tell em the same thing. EVERYTHING in here is either, really hard, really hot, really heavy or really sharp.. or a combination of all of them. That seems to get the message across.

 • Yep! Lol But to be honest, in most cases, as long as you don't do anything stupid you won't get hurt.

 • Hah, I remember way back in 7th grade metal shop the teacher said only one machine in here can kill you instantly, but you will need help! The spot welder. I remember it to this day.

 • 7th grade? Whoah, we didn't have shop classes until 10th grade. I took it my senior year, and am about to graduate with a CNC degree from Tech I almost got hit by a T-handle in a lathe once, I was helping a friend with a part and he started the machine. The t handle flew out and almost got my foot. Another person sent a t handle almost 5 inches into a brick wall 0_o

The first time I said, I fire guys for that... the second time... he believed me.

 • I watched a dude get his hair caught in one. We'd all warned him to tie it up... -blam!-ed him up royally and left him unemployed.

 • Wow.... It seems particularly bad with people new to machines, I guess they don't realize how dangerous T-handles can be. I've also heard a lot of stories of people wearing gloves while working on lathes *facepalm*

 • A mill or lathe is a lot like a Terminator. Once you turn it on all it will do it its job until someone turns it off. No matter how much blood there is...
