They are there for those of us that enjoy getting the additional story and background via the grimoire.

HAHAHA there are people that want to know more than what little crap was provided to us in the story?! Why?? Do you enjoy being pissed on? Lol at the idea that people actually use Grimoire cards - Jesus guys, get a life.
