Why the crucible is broken, In terms of rewards

There should be more RNG, if at all possible

RNG Is good for crucible! Random rewards are fair!

More skill deserves more reward.... Right?

So, there I am. Firebase Delphi, control. Cool right? Changed to my Arma for the two grenades (striker titan obviously;)) and equip my fresh as -blam!- Mytho that was given to me yesterday (I've got it to the last damage upgrade) and duely equiped my Found verdict. So i had an amazing game to say the least, led my team of scrubs to victory single handed. Not to leave their efforts in the dust, but getting just under 10,000 score is a feat in itself, as I've gotten half the score versus the other 5 team mates. Now, this is irregular for me, because my usual games as of the last month or so consist of good 4-7K scores and 2+ K.D's, but this was good for me. Now, as far as rewards go. I'll let the photo speak for itself. The issue with all of this, is some scrub on the other team managed to pick himself up a Red Death Exotic pulse Rifle. Funny that, the same person who got 2K score on the losing team, got a reward, and it was so bold as to be an exotic. The red death itself is a mediocre exotic at best, but the point stands that RNG in crucible doesn't seem all too fair. Now, before you cry and tell me to man up or stop moaning, my reply? Shut up, please. I'd say by now, 90% would agree that RNG isn't really fair in circumstances where its evident one has lead the team to receive nothing, while a low ranking, noob manages to scrub himself an exotic. Now, i understand some may have the argument that it helps worse players get exotics e.c.t. Thats an idiotic way to reward loot, you shouldn't be given what is meant to be one of the best weapons in the game to someone because they are crap enough to score below a certain amount to qualify for some sort of crap player benefits system. Seems incredibly flawed, at best. In conclusion, I'm not stating that because i kicked the other teams ass, i deserve an exotic. This would also to apply to anyone else who does the same; as that would be silly to receive what is the best class of item in the game because you had a single good game. I'm simply providing an opinion that someone who earns the right to claim a reward should be, especially over that of a lowly scrub scoring a mere 20% of the MVP who led their team to victory. The saying stands, Nothing in life is free. Darn you RNG. (Provide your opinions below on whether or not you think crucible rewards should be less RNG, and more MVP's get rewarded slightly more than their scrubby counterparts) *EDIT- (The photo is bad quality, yes. The person on my team was not the one to receive the Red Death, he just happened to get a crappy Rare Auto rifle, looks similar as the bad quality) *EDIT 2- (Can we like the post, get more people seeing it, its always good to get loads of opinions! Its what a forum is for!)

  • The reward for pvp matches should have nothing to do with performance in the given game. However, i will agree that rewards from pvp are underwhelming. I don't play crucible all that much, but when I do, i'll get a blue engram every five games. That's kinda annoying. Rewards should be comparable to vanguard strikes. A pvp match takes about the same time as a strike, so when i'm playing pvp i'm kinda feeling like i'm wasting my time. Maybe something like a blue engram per 15 pvp kills ?(carries across matches so everyone gets engrams) However, the issue is not pvp, the issue is the loot system in general. There should be a fixed, linear way to get exotics. For example, every time you win a crucible match, or every time you complete a vanguard strike you get a token. Once you reach hundred tokens you can either buy an exotic of your choice, or buy a totem that will guarantee, that next time an exotic drops, it is the one you chose. In its current state, the rng system is broken. There is nothing more frustrating than hoping for a certain weapon, and getting the same exotic weapon you already have drop over, and over and over again. For example, I want a hawk moon, yet i've already received three monte carlo's. The system with totems would fix this issue. To all of you who are going to say "you've never played an mom before, rng is inherent to them". I have actually, i've extensively played mmo's over the past 12 years. While rng indeed plays a large role in those mom's, there are countering factors that make the rng system fair. For one, usually boss kills don't take nearly as long as a strike. While in both a classic mmo and destiny the odds of getting a good drop may be at 1%, in destiny a strike takes approx 10mins, while you'd be hard pressed to find a boss fight that takes 10 mins in a mmo. And boss fights that do take as long usually have better drop rates. Secondly, when you get a weapon or piece of armor you already have, you can sell it. Which means if you get something rare you're happy, even if you already have it, cause you can just sell it and buy what you want with it. Thirdly, in mom's there is usually a way to get good gear while negating rng for a large part via tokens etc.
