Fellow Gaurdians, I am a level 24 Titan on a quest for my first piece of legendary gear. And today I got it. I was out farming a ineffective loot cave when I decided I had enough Engrams to go back to the tower and try for a legendary (I think I had about 15 Blue's). When I got there, I prepared to see either a purple or the maniacal smile on the Cryptarchs face. And I sort of got both. I opened the majority of my engrams, which were the primary, secondary, heavy, and armor ones, and got nothing but blues. But there was one lonely engram sitting left to decrypt: a measly class item. I figured it was going to be crap, and I could get a strange coin or something from it. But the sight that met my eyes when I clicked the X button on my controller was a purple. Everything inside of me burst for joy for all of 1 second, when I saw that, yes... It was a class item. My first legendary. To make that evil Cryptarchs even more satisfied, he gave me a cloak that could be bought, in the tower, from the New Monarchy vendor. To top it all off, I cannot even wear it around, showing off my snazzy new class item, because I am currently leveling up my vanguard as ferociously as possible to get level 3 for a commendation so I can get some legendary armor. Otherwise it would only level up New Monarchy. In retrospect, maybe the only solution to getting the saving grace of the Cryptarchs is to throw your controller across the room in frustration, pull the disc out and break in half.
