Is it possible that Brutes are still with the covenant? Haven't read books in a while and halo 4 didn't have them in the story. I know stupid question i just don't know.

  • No. After the Covenant was fractured, many Jiralhanae returned to their homeworlds. Not receiving any more gain from following the Covenant faith, the vast majority of the Brutes dropped it, and are either atheist, or follow their comparatively 'primitive' native religion.

  • I forget where, (I believe in the species guide that came on halo 3 collectors edition) that the brutes were driven to near extinction by the war. So the chances are low.

  • They were driven to near extinction with the war against the Sanheili. To end the fight, they resettled the Jiralhenae to resource rich planets, although the Brutes couldn't use them because they had no idea how.
