the word "customization" gets thrown around in video games simply b/c as gamers thats what we love but it is easily lost when you take into account everything in the game is reskinned versions of the same crap. all guardians pretty much have the same sub class builds as there simply not enough skills which is the next problem in customization. if you only have a limited TOTAL number of skills then when you have to make a decision on what skill to actually take you will still see many other players who look Exactly like you with the same specs, then due to the limited armor who visually look the same and have most of the same weapons this is something however that Not only Destiny is guilty of MOST EVERY game that raves about the customization is in this same boat as they use it to drive sales more than anything i think. true customization can be seen in old school rpgs-given not all obv, or maybe more in diablo3, wow(safe guess?) tl;dr- you need to have a lot more options to be able to Truly customize
