A note on armor skins. With tge DLC i have seen sone really cool new armor helms for my hunter as end of mission rewards. Problem? They are all blue quality items. Why waist time making so many variants in blue armor when anyone that invests any time will move past this armor quickly. Make some random world drop armor legendary value... stuff yoy can't buy but comparable to vendor armor. I would be fine if rust burner was the only lvl 20 blue armor and everything else in game was just increased to legendary quality. That would solve the cookie cutter issue right there without even designing anything new.

Yes either that or a some sort of item appearance option. Idk whether this game should lean in the direction of dcuo where you get styles separate from armor stat, or diablo( which is where it seems it's aiming for) and make the higher level stuff increasingly more and more exotic. Absolutely no reason anything post level 20 should look like anything pre20. And nothing post 30 should look like anything before. Maybe if they regionalized the drops so that locations affect a chance of a armor style/type whatever. Idk. Like I said I'm still scratching the surface for armor, but it sucks that the really powerful chest piece I found looks like the piece I found when I was level 10. I love the one exotic idea. It's unique and it works I think. But just appearance skews need to be way more varied, especially with strikes and raids. High level content shouldn't reward low level styles.

  • I think they can focus on 2 armor slots for making your character look cool. Helm and arms. Chest pieces are difficult to make astheticly unique i think. Not much you can do geometricly due to being framed in by the helm and shoulders. But drawing from other games the shoulder and helm slots always seem to have the most standout appearances. That being said, i agree 100% with you. Regional armor types would be an awesome idea! Patroling on mars has the chance to drop armor that looks patched together from cabal armor scraps, venus looks vexish, ect. That or environmentally inspired. Mars has desert style armor. Venus jungle armor. Moon deep space bleached from lack of atmosphere. Earth can look less alien, more standard issue. would fullfill the promise bungie made that each armor should tell a story about where it came from. A way to express what your favorite gaming zone is :) But this would all require some new armor designs. If they just repurposed the skins that already exist in the game it would inject a good variety of visual diversity into the game. I had a blue hunter helm drop the ither day that looks like a tsme version of that new aracnid exotic hunter helm. Make that a legendary item and id wear that all day long. It looked awesome!

  • Yes exactly. This can be worked into the game maybe after the house of wolves and wouldn't really require to much
