Obsidian mind can instantly reset your CD if you kill 7-8 enemies. Claws give 2 melee (2 shields from scorch or 2 energy drain which is also 2 extra grenades and a free 20% of your super). Voidfang has served me very well in the past. It's not nearly as bad as you make it
