Out of curiosity. Anyone know how this exploit was even discovered. I feel like someone wasn't like, hey maybe if I dc right as he kneels he'll stay down. Accidental dc and he stayed down and minds were blown then replications started occuring. What's the origin.

The host was disconnected during a normal run and his friends decided to wait for him to rejoin so he wouldn't miss out on the loot drops. When he came back, the glitch happened.

Well its really a known exploit in most online games actually. For bungie, the bans started with Halo Reach.

Only the worst of the worst actually got permanent bans. The best was watching all the "total progress resets" for things like "my dog wagged his tail and disconnected my Internet just as I completed the challenge"... LOL Wouldn't that be something to see in Destiny? Character inventory and Vault reduced to Greens and ALL XP & RANKS reduced to ZERO.

LOL... you'd be surprised at how little time it takes to Nightfall, Weekly, and Daily three toons. My Primary is usually first thing Tuesday. Secondary and Tertiary don't need the XP buffs... I'm just looking for the RnG, the mats, the Motes, and the Strange Coins. I MUST have Strange Coins and glimmer before Friday morning. I'm never short on Strange Coins or Motes...

Ya. I keep meaning to read about that. Never was a halo fan honestly so I really only heard about that through forums here. So post knowledge brought to this game and it happened to work.

Yeah thats basically what happened. Bungie wiped the accounts of rewards and the accounts were punished for breaking the EULA.
