There are hundreds of people cheezing crota. As if xbox live and sony are going to ban all of us

Player accounts are not banned by Bungie. The exploit breaks the EULA. Sony and microsoft do banning. Bungie will only wipe rewards.

A few people have linked the source. Bungie just wiped the rewards. The companies inserted bans for EULA.
