I read it, and I understand your concern about exploits, but your request for punitive action against other players is - in my opinion - misplaced. The Crota bug IS an exploit - methodology aside, it's solely and simply an exploit of problematic netcode. The coding to fix this bug will have to do with how the game handles a disconnection, and in all truth it may prove beneficial in a wide variety of KTO situations that don't relate to intentional disconnects. But utilizing netcode to gain an unfair advantage is no different from using comically poor AI pathing* to gain an advantage. Both are really rebukes to Bungie for not playtesting their code more thoroughly. Bear in mind, someone else getting the same thing you got with less effort doesn't diminish your accomplishment at all. That's nonsense. Your reward for hard work and accomplishment is the self-confidence and self-knowledge that come with that struggle and that journey. A gun in your virtual armory is equivalent to a plastic medal you could pin on your lapel or hang on your wall - it's just a thing. The memories and self-refinement you got from actually doing the hard work are what make it worth doing. This is a videogame, not the real world. Keeping up with the Joneses is stupid in either place, but especially so in a videogame. * Comically poor AI pathing: too many examples to list, but Hive foot soldiers not entering the mouth of a Hive tunnel complex (in the Cosmodrome Refinery) has to be among my favorites, and among the most egregious.
