If you go over to the Se7en Xbox modding community and take a look at their man in the middle methods, those are network manipulation. You pass the connection through your pc to your console, record the packets that happen during a certain activity, and then send them when you want it to happen. You could plausibly even start a strike then send the boss defeated packets to end it without doing anything.
