To All the People who think Raid Matchmaking is a Bad Idea

They're all missing the obvious. Yes, most randoms will probably suck. Yes, co-operation blah blah blah... @_@ Yes, very challenging, trustworthy teammates... HOWEVER, have you not stopped to think that maybe, JUST MAYBE, people will attempt and fail a raid but ADD TO THEIR FRIENDS anyone who they thought did well? The best place in the whole world to meet ANYONE with regards to ANYTHING is doing the thing that you want to find people for. Edit : I'll put in a few more clauses here seeing as people keep bringing up the same illogical counter points. - You need people who have the same 6 hours or whatever free as you do. Anyone who's matchmaking for a Raid, probably has several hours reserved for it, and thus, is a good potential Raid partner. - In an actual Raid, NOT Strikes or PvP, you can see how your teammates handle a Raid, thus determining whether or not, THEY ARE GOOD AT RAIDS! =O OMFG LOGIC!!! - There were a couple of guys who made this point in my thread, but I can only find one of them at short notice without re-reading it, sorry for missing you out other guy. Anyway, THIS POINT from Magic Air is something you need to consider :
People are exchanging psn/gamertags with anybody who will exchange theirs back. Randoms joining randoms for the specific purpose of raiding in Destiny. It's true that not everybody is doing this, of course. But the point is that matchmakers gonna matchmake for dem loots, doesn't matter who with. And that's what's happening. Matchmakers matchmaking. :)
It's still randoms, just randoms you met on a Forum and with no idea how competent they actually are at the game. Matchmaking is quicker and easier. Further Edit : - I would like to know where this anti-logical notion has formed whereby some very dim people assume that by adding in Matchmaking, that Bungie will somehow have to tone down the difficulty? Uhh, wut? That's got to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard on a gaming forum. Where does it say that matchmaking HAS to reduce difficulty? Why can't they both exist together? That's common sense, and if you're incapable of understanding that, feel free to return to your tribal hovel. It's a purely beneficial cycle. Play the game doing what you want to do, find people with shared interests, team up and play together.

 • I'm fine with raid matchmaking as long as I can keep doing raids the way I am now. Obviously, I ideally want a group of friends to play with because I know how good they are, I know we work well together, and I know everyone will communicate. Sometimes though, we're only able to get 5 people together. At this point, that's plenty for the VoG if we're doing that. So in that case, I don't want to be forced to find a random teammate. Or, for instance, maybe I just want to run through the first part of Crota's end with my buddy to grab the first chest and leave. Do I have to have a match-made group for that? If I do, then I'm either stuck in the raid or I ruin their game by dropping out. Granted, a lot of the time for the VoG I ended up playing with 1-5 random people to fill out the group. It's nice to be able to look at someone's qualifications on the forums and decide if I want to play with them or not. However, there definitely are times where I don't want to put in the time to look for a teammate, and that's where matchmaking would be nice. TL;DR As long as I'm not FORCED to use matchmaking (like strikes), then I think it's a great idea!
