Are you good at halo? I mean are you good when it comes to actual gameplay? Not that think you are one, but I have seen some people that get all into the story and news of a game series but they are TERRIBLE at playing the game. Also what do you like doing when you play the game: Campaign or multiplayer?

I'm decent. Saying I'm good would be an exaggeration. But if it's a serious match, I can pull my weight. The way I describe myself in general is as a casual gamer who likes hardcore mechanics. I do both quite a bit. If I don't know what to do in campaign, I do multiplayer.

  • Good I am the same I can hold my own especially in rumble, but I do have my fair share of bad games. It makes me think of the Dark Souls news and lore analyzers. They are either decent or so good that allow themselves almost be killed by the boss for storytelling purposes. I wonder how do you keep up with all this halo stuff? It seems a bit overwhelming for me to get all the comics, books, and shows ( they are also so expensive)?

  • Keeping up isn't a problem as new content is often many months apart. I can't imagine what's it like to catch up for new fans though, Halo has got crazy amounts of lore. It's a long process to learn it all (which I guess I still probably haven't, missing a couple books and the comics).

I started really getting into the lore with Ghosts of Onyx back in 2006. And yes, keeping up with the lore is definitely expensive. My plan of attack back when I needed to catch up was to ask for the older stuff as gifts on my birthday or the holidays. That way, I had the spare money on hand to buy any new lore content that came out. Of course, I didn't have the money to get the more periphery older items like encyclopedia or comics, so I held off on those until earlier this year when graduation gifts gave me the money needed to buy those. Now that I'm caught up though, it's super easy to just buy the latest thing. My recommendation if you want to get into the lore is to buy what's coming up and recently out, and then getting the older stuff as gifts. Of course, you may feel compelled to treat the novels as an entire series and tackle it at that angle, which is also a good way, it just might mean you won't be as up to date with the current lore depending on how you tackle it.

  • Ghosts of Onyx rules. It's the basis for a Machinima I've been planning.
