Actually it is not. Bungie itself on the box calls it a "next generation first person shooter"
They may attempt to include some MMO elements, but that does not make it an MMO. Just like Diablo is not an MMO. If you can't have more than 12-16 people in any one "zone" then the game is not MMO.
