I think the simplest thing would be to reduce the allotted idle time in matchmade strikes and crucible matches. It's pretty long right now, but if they dropped it to, say, 3 minutes, it would just get them kicked. Everything else like patrol, missions, raid, etc can stay the same so people can go get something to eat or use the bathroom without fear if getting kicked from solo stuff or from your raid. If you need to be gone longer than that you shouldn't have joined matchmaking, and idlers would be replaced by actual players more quickly.

  • True, bumping the joystick would disable inactivity though, hence why a 3-5 minute dark zone attendance should be implemented I feel.

  • Ah, that would also be a good option. Or make it so once a team member enters a dark zone, you get like 1 minute to get there or you get kicked. That would keep people from just dicking around elsewhere until the strike is over. Maybe a combination of all of the above.

  • 1 minute is a bit short, plus when you grind strikes for a while you tend to get into the habit of skipping unnecessary mobs, give them time to catch up, but not enough time to sit idle while they wait for others do to the hard work. That's why I was thinking 3-5 mins seeing as a tiger strike takes between 10-15 minutes and there are normally 3 dark zones per strike.
