HM VoG isnt fun anymore
All because of the templar fix.
Unless you have an experienced raid team and good weapons the hard mode raid is an excruciatingly painful experience.
Templar is easily the hardest part of the raid. Without the cheese my raid team and I get stuck at templar for hours sometimes. We never cheesed atheon or NM Templar. We only cheesed HM templar to get to the rest of the raid without wanting to throw our ps4s out the window.
The hard raid is no longer worth it imo.
Hopefully bungie get things right with crotas end.
Edit: What I'm trying to say is that HM templar is harder than it should be and sometimes causes so much frustration that I would rather not do the raid at all. I have beat HM templar many times legit. Just sharing my opinion about the fight.

Reading through the responses has made me realize how toxic this community is.
Apperently opinions aren't welcome here.
Though I did see some light in the darkness.
IE. people respecting my opinion even if they disagreed
Edit: I want to make it clear that I don't like to cheese or ever relied on the cheese. My raid Team and I are very experienced in the VoG and have beat HM templar many times. I just feel templar needs a little tweeking.
If you think I'm just a scrub and I should "get gud" then that's your opinion and I will respect it.

The answer to your problem is: A. Find the people that you did the raid with "Legit" the first time round. B. Find some experienced players to do the raid with you, not just people who have pushed him off. C. Admit you have been beaten by the Hard Mode Raid and fly off in your ship into the darkness, never to return.

I beat him on both my 30s last night. He's freakin easy if your relic holder can stay alive. Much easier than trying to coordinate the gatekeeper. That's what takes forever

Beat him last night. Was it hard: yes but only because people don't have a strategy for him. We sat around and was like: so we can't push him...what do we do? We decided to stay up top and snipe oracles and 2 guy go down. 1 carries relic and kill harpies, the other shoot the hard to get oracles. Our DPS is a little weak due to IB being used on oracles instead of the Templar but this strategy works. The Templar is now almost a level/weapon check: you need to be 30s to kill oracles and need to have high DPS weapons to kill Templar :/

It's not supposed to be easy or fun. If the whole community (myself included) didn't cheese him for the last 2 months we would be walking all over the templar just like we do gatekeepers and Aetheon.

If they had just got it right in the first place I think it would be better appreciated. I mean how many people got their hard mode gear in the days when cheesing the whole raid, Atheon included, was possible? My first raid was after the patch that fixed that... I hope they have put more effort into the darkness below.

1 ReplyIt's suppose to be hard people get over it. Even with fully upgraded weapons and a team full of 30s it's still suppose to be hard. I got bored of cheesing the templar. It made getting my hard light and vision of confluence last night much more worth it

Practice, it gets easier once you know the Templar spots, the enemy spawn sequence, what weapons to use, etc.

The Templar is ridiculously easy. People have beaten him alone without cheesing. It boggles my mind that this is actually something people are complaining about. Unfortunately, I CAN see where you're coming from about it not being worth it. It used to be super easy to get loot from the Templar, and now it's a fight a lot of people have to learn for the first time. It's pretty stupid to have to do much more work for the same drops. But complaining it isn't fun anymore? That, now [i]THAT[/i] is ridiculous. Do you really mean to tell me that cheesing him was [i]fun[/i], and now it's not fun because it's a challenge? If the only "fun" part of the raid is getting loot, that is pretty sad. For everybody that always cheesed him, they have basically included a NEW BOSS. Cheesing him was stupid and boring. Kinda a mockery of the entire raid. Frankly they need to give Atheon a 3x health buff and start player spawns on the central conflux once you're in the oracle phase. But I'm probably one of like two people with this opinion.

Edited by PatientZero4018: 12/3/2014 2:28:42 PMit was fun for me and my group last night took us about an hour to figure out how to do the templar on hard.. we split 2 hunter 30s on the right and the rest of the 30s on the left where the ones on the right kept him from moving from the left becuz the ones on the right had the fully upgraded gallys killed him in 5 mins with no push off.. we didnt look for a strategy we just made one up to fit our gaming style... so we are doing another hard one tonight shit was alot of fun yesterday challenging made it alot of fun

I don't care about the Templar thing. Actually this is something they wasted time on rather than making the game BETTER. But come next week, this will be old history. The raid is and no longer has been fun because it is not at all rewarding to do. Simple as that. Nightfall has been WAY better to me than the raid ever has, but I can't get the last piece or 2 of armor from Nightfall.... This system is truly demeaning, especially when you see people that do not produce get all the 30 stuff, easily.
