I never once even thought of exchanging 50 mats for a couple of crucible or vanguard marks... The effort vs reward was not justified.
This new feature is much better imo. I despised grinding monotonous farming routes and strikes where we just bumrushed to the boss over and over. It was time consuming and not rewarding enough to warrant the time put into grinding.

And so your opinion is worth more than those who feel PvP is boring and a waste of time? This works both ways and there are solutions that dont involve crapping on a portion of the player base.

Naw, just "imo" as I've stated. I'm looking at it from an effort vs reward point of view and through personal experience. I don't enjoy pvp myself. The ONLY time I pvp is during Iron Banner or for exotic bounties. I also use farming routes to gather materials for upgrading gear for hunter, warlock, and titan. 50 mats used to be an extremely long and arduous grind. As for the strictly-pve players, the change may not work well for everyone. But at least it's a step away from Grindestiny.

How is grinding something I don't enjoy, crucible, better than grinding something I do enjoy, patrol?

Exactly, plus all the venomous replies by the PvP side really make me want to keep trying PvP. I wonder if the rush/rude people you run into on the PvE side are actually PvP lovers. It would explain a lot...
