It's more 'solo player' players than PVE. I like aimlessly wandering finding chests. This was a nice bonus. The point is it wasn't exactly a game breaking mechanism so why remove it? The new system helps those that do strikes and pvp a lot. Why shaft the solo player at the same time. Just no need. Why can't we all play the way we want instead of being channelled into multiplayer. With materials dropping in dailies and bounties too material nodes are literally redundant now. Why even have them anymore?

  • I still will continue to farm chest nodes, it's a great way to get materials still (quicker than strikes by far) as well as glimmer and materials. I don't see how anyone was "shafted" by this update. Being able to purchase materials is more of a different way to the same end, not a replacement. They both have their place.

  • The solo player shafting occurs because you can no longer buy New Monarch, Dead Orbit, FWC or Crucible gear without pvp. You could before via trading in mats for crucible marks. The new system is useful. The old system was useful. Makes no sense why we can't have both.

How does it any way make sense that you be able to purchase Crucible gear without playing a single game of crucible? "You've sure shown your worth to us in Crucible by bringing me all of these awesome materials! Here, have some PVP variant gear!" What's so special about the crucible variant gear anyway? Vanguard sells essentially the same items and weapons give or take specific perks and can be acquired through PvE if that's what you're into. There's a reason they made vanguard and crucible reputation systems. One is for Crucible, the other is for PvE. It's not broken, it actually makes sense this way. "Useful" is very debatable as I'm sure many more people would argue this new system is more useful to them.

Crucible yeah you could say doesn't belong. But all the other Factions give rep whatever you're doing. But you still need crucible marks. I wouldn't care if I could spend vanguard marks there. But there's absolutely no reason both exchanges can't live side by side. I'm not saying go back to how it was. I'm happy for the people it benefits. TBH I'm sure it's all moot as the only vendor we're going to be using from next week is Eris and she will no doubt have her own currency & rep and we'll need new Dark Below materials anyway. :)

  • There is no reason anyone should get crucible marks for not playing crucible.

  • Ok dude but the option was there before and now it's gone. It's annoying if you don't like pvp. We'll agree to disagree. Have fun ;p

  • Yeah I can see how it can be annoying for those that used it, but it makes sense this way. You either learn to deal with it or don't play.
