I figure with adding Marks -> Mats they had to remove Mats-> Marks for 2 reasons 1. So the horrible exchange rate wouldn't be so obvious 2. So people couldn't use the system as a defacto mark storage system to save more than the tiny amount Bungie deigns to let us have.
