A BIG F-U to PvE Players, Thanks Bungie
EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint:
Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post.
Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons.

First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs.
Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP.
What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks?
I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already.
If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games.
Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00.
If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time.
Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP.
Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand.
All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls.
After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible.
I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too.
If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way.
If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance.
BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

I am just bumping it because I enjoyed it so much as a perfect example of what I find is the worst posts of those who care way too much about a pointless little game. Probably because they realized they created the sequel to farmville where the majority of your time was spent gathering mats instead of being a bad ass. The obvious solution is to just have the factions accept vanguard OR crucible marks

I was one who asked to buy materials and I haven't played pvp. 50 materials for 5 marks is a terrible transaction I didn't think anybody would ever do that until I saw some of the complaints. They should have left a way to trade materials for the few that used it, but I am very happy about the reduced farming required. Finally have a use for my hundreds of vanguard marks.

Just practice and play pvp instead of complaining as an excuse for your poor skills in crucible. Geez you know how much I used to get my ass kicked in halo (my 1st online pvp gaming). I didn't bitch about it and claim that "I'm a pve player only". I stuck with it and now love it

2 RepliesWait i'm confused, the Crucible weapons and armors are the same as the vanguard items, just different colors.So why do you need Crucible rep? Just keep playing PVE. I don't understand how PVE was ruined, it seems to get better with every update. With the new material purchasing i don't have to sit for a few hours farming helium. From what i'm reading this just seems to be an excuse for being bad at PVP, and saying that your going to be bad on purpose only to mask the fact that your not very good at it. Did people really trade materials for rep? you can do a tiger strike and get the same amount of rep than trade it 50 material units or just do patrol missions. Someone enlighten me, this post sounds like someone is complaining to complain. If the game has screwed you over so much, stop playing and move on.

What a child. Bungie "messed up" your experience so you mess others up? How mature. You do know that you can also use vanguard marks to buy them to? And you don't have to stop farming the materials. Your get them from daily missions as well as being able to buy them with vanguard and crucible marks. There isn't any more reason to play crucible then you had before. I hate people who make it a vendetta to ruin the experience for others because they get a little rustled by a small change.

Will this post be removed or edited with an apology once/if they change the faction vendors to accept Vanguard marks like I'm pretty sure they've talked about? Patience, friend, need to get used to not "getting it all, right now". Besides, I realized once I started doing the raid that all the gear the faction people sell (besides some of the weapons) become moot once raid gear drops. They are probably right to be focusing on "raid equivalent" gear, even if it does make the vendors in the tower completely useless.

I shall take two pennies from my pocket and cast them into the ring here. My personal biggest most number one issue with any and all pvp situations is the difference in internet quality linked to each and every console. This in turn produces laggy connections, glitches, players seeming to run into/through walls and vanishing targets. I can shoot a player in the head just as easily as the next guy. A high k/d in a video game only means you can zig better than the dead player zagged. The cold hard reality folks is that pvp is what drives and keeps online games alive. I prefer to run WITH not AGAINST other players but now I will spend more time in Crucible. Just "a little" ;)

If they still allowed you to trade in for rep you could spend your vanguard marks on material then buy your Crucible rank basically. They couldn't offer an alternative method to obtain materials and still allow materials to be traded in. Think about it.

The PvP players have to do the same with nearly every -blam!-ing PvE content that game has. That complaining is just insane. 80%, lol. Yeah sure. That's why that game has like 30 pvp maps, 15 unique PvP modes, custom matches, open world PvP areas etc. Oh wait, it hasn't. Cauz the majority of Destiny is still PvE content and always will be!

Before you down the patch wait till the expansion comes out maybe there will be better things to buy with vanguard marks than crucible that's what I'm hoping for. I'm not a PVP person but from what i learned even the worst players get crucible marks and points even if all you are is cannon fodder, target practice or a sitting duck. Like i stated before i am not a PVP person but i really enjoyed the iron banner event. play enough of PVP and you will learn the maps and see where everyone funnels in through then just point and shoot. just be careful with the sliders and blinkers they are tricksy, and remember the RNG Gods rewards the worst players lol.

2 RepliesThe whole point of the crucible vendor is to provide the crucible players the same opportunity as the pve players have with the vanguard vendor. Why do you need both?

6 RepliesFrom a former .4 KDR PvP chump to a decent 1.2 KDR, anything is possible if you take the time to the learn the maps and some semblance of sound tactics. I do, however, totally agree with you about the changes to resource exchanges and access to our choice of marks for purchasing weapons and armor.
