A BIG F-U to PvE Players, Thanks Bungie

EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint: Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post. Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons. EDIT #1 END First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs. Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP. What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks? I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already. If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games. Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00. If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time. Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP. Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand. All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls. After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible. I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too. If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way. If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance. BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

    1. You're not missing anything by not buying from crucible vendors. 2. You can still technically get any of their stuff via drops. 3.There was NEVER a way for PvP players to get vanguard marks while playing PvP. 4. Just go play PvP. They'll love killing you way more than they hate having you on their team. I promise. 5. Please stop. Whining is the PvP guys thing. You make Pve players look bad.

Simple fix. Make all vendors use both marks. [Edit:1] No, how about: Delete Vanguard Marks and Crucible Marks. Come up with a new one (name doesn't matter to me) that you can earn from doing either activity. Caps at 200, All Vendors accept new marks. Problem solved? Everyone's happy? [Edit:2] Move this to #Feedback, apparently that's where Deej frequents most

    • You brought up a good point but I totally disagree with you that this patch ruined PVE or in any way was a nerf. This patch was awesome IMO. I hated farming materials with a passions and the ability to now spend vanguard marks which are essentially useless to me made me so happy. You are correct though. The 3 factions only accepting crucible marks is an issue. I find the vast majority of my playtime now is PVE based. It just seems it is a way more effective way to get experience to level up weapons. Also running the raids a couple of times, nightfalls, weekly, etc. means I just don't have much time to PVP. Like yourself I am shut out from the reputation based vendors. However I would never claim that this patch was a nerf to PVE, this patch was mostly really good.

    • Holy patrol-farming Batman. I guess they did wreck your style of play. I would think that would get boring after a while.

      • You bought a game with pvp elements, there are things that will not be available to you because you don't want to pvp. You are making that choice stop expecting to have your hand held forever. Suck it up and play pvp or realize that you don't deserve the weapons you want because you won't work for them. Tldr: if you won't work to earn marks then you don't deserve the weapons you need them for. God damn handout generation

        • You definitely crying way more than any grown man should about a video game. But... Destiny does force play out their comfort zone, and cater more to pvp than pve, hence 4 pvp factions, 5 with IB compared to only 1 pve faction. We are literally 1 week away from a PVE payload, so shut up meg, git gud and collect yo tears!

        • I agree with the sentiment, but not the part about pissing in the PvP pool. Thats not going to help with anything And to those saying that PvP vendors should only be available with PvP rewards: That would be fine IF there was an equal amount of PvE vendors, but that is not so. PvE has the Vanguard, while PvP has three factions, the crucible and the occasional Iron Banner vendor too. The game is getting more and more skewed towards PvP, and like the OP states that is the exact opposite of how it was originally described.

        • stick to pve then, bungie revamped this game around a year ago to suit the likes of YOU, Yes you! They wanted to dumb this game down like all the Call of Dootys so the gamer thats like you (who sucks and isnt capable of critically thinking of game mechanics and scenarios) has fun and feels obligated to buy DLC for the sake of story. So yes stick to pve man because this game is perfect for you! Have fun paying for dull repetition!

        • I see your point for weapons. Though most of the faction weapons tend to be perked toward PvP. Not to say they don't kick ass in PvE, but they seem more geared toward PvP. If you're after armor, it's a bit of a waste if you're shooting for endgame. I get that people don't want to grind PvP for gear, but honestly I never had to grind endless strikes or PvP. I did bounties and played the game to get my vanguard gear before raid gear. Never felt grindy. By the time I rolled my titian I had nearly a full set for him and my warlock. I had everything but gloves/boots for my titian. Got gloves in a drop shortly after hitting 20. Had almost 65 marks by then for boots and only had to "grind" two strikes to get the 6 marks I needed. My warlock isn't even 20 yet and I have everything but boots, including an legendary and exotic helm and gloves. So i'm not too worried there either. Raid/IB gear gets you to 30, everything in between fills a niche to reach said goal. If you level beyond 27/28 Non-raid gear wise, you're kinda wasting your time. You'll get raid gear and just have to regrind to get it full. Save a few extra shards and don't max out non light 30 gear. I get that the perks are mainly what you're after, but again, unless you're filling a niche and sticking at level 27-29, there really isn't a point in going outside the vanguard for gear to get to endgame. People do have PvP sets of gear, though if you are that person you more than likely don't need to trade mats for marks/reps. Granted with crucible marks it was possible to have a full set of purple gear right off the bat; provided you had maxed 200 vanguard and 200 crucible marks. Though again, you're just speeding up your sprint to the glass ceiling and grinding for Raid gear.

        • I think what he's trying to say is more like this, but I could be wrong. As a PVE (who hasn't enjoyed PVP since MW3) we actually enjoy farming and knocking out patrol missions even when there's not a bounty. The only way we can use the factions is to spend crucible marks. It's a slow grind but players like us don't mind. I'm good with most of this update. My pocket infinity is glitchy but other than its all fine. The only change that I would like to see made is let us spend vanguard marks with the faction vendors. Problem fixed for everyone. PVP doesn't have to farm, PVE can faction up. I can see where still selling mats to the vanguard quartermaster would still work but even in PVE I get over 100 marks from strikes, etc.

If you were a hardcore PvE player, you would know that you can get legendary drops which are often better than what you can purchase from a vendor. I play mostly PvE and it's great that players can spend the time playing the game rather than farming for hours on patrol missions. I seriously can't believe that people are mad at not being able to spend hours on farming. I'm glad I never have to look for relic iron ever again.

            • So now you HAVE to play the Crucible in order to gain Crucible rep and rank. Hm...it seems to make complete sense now.

              • STFU, all you do is patrols. Have you considered actually playing the game. I mean, farming is playing the game, but $60 to farm... Think about it, if you actually played the Strikes (Mainly Nightfall), you would get exotics. If you get exotics, you don't need legendary items there.

                • Really you would rather run in a circle and collect1500 mats than play some pvp? Why is there this weird sense of entitlement with players where they feel they deserve all of a games reward content when they only play half the game. Lets be honest here pvp gets some crappy faction gear but you get raid armor and weapons, strange coins to buy exotics and even a better chance at legendary engrams that can turn into the crappy faction gear. All you pve only players are bitching about this change but from a reward standpoint pve is far better than pvp and I dont hear pvp only players complaining. Probably because they don't exist. Like it or not in Destiny you have to play pve because that where ALL of the best stuff is.

I would like to nominate this as the Cry Baby thread / post of this patch. This post has truly been amazing. I am just bumping it because I enjoyed it so much as a perfect example of what I find is the worst posts of those who care way too much about a pointless little game. Bungie is attempting to satisfy millions. You, Crybaby, couldn't see past your own controller if you tried.
