Look at it this way. Would it really be better to institute a system in which marks could be traded for materials and materials could be traded for marks? Exploits would be found. Admittedly it does lock people who absolutely stone cold refuse to participate in any type of multiplayer function, but I can't see why anyone in that camp would still be playing this game. To me strikes were done to death after two weeks. With no option to do heroic patrols theres no challenge and there's no reason to play without other players IMO. sorry if you feel differently. It doesn't make perfect sense, but it makes some sense at least.

  • I'm curious, whats wrong with trading 5 marks you don't need for 1 that you want? How would that break the game? Because thats how it would have been had they left the old exchange and removed rep gains.

  • Why lock anybody into or out of anything? And it's not "any kind of multiplayer", it's PvP.

  • I apologize that now you are forced to fight something with a brain in order to get gear that won't get you to level cap or be effective in the hard mode raid you so cherish that I beat with my eyes close even though 90% of my game time I spent becoming good at hitting moving targets that actually try to avoid death.
