This post is just ... facepalm
Please think for a moment. Materials are very easy to get now. So why would they get rid of it? Idk
We got a step back but bungie added 10 steps forward and people complain about that one step even though it makes perfect sense.

You got tons of xp and rep for selling materials not to mention either crucible marks or vanguard marks. I don't think you understand how this broke the game for a lot of us.

Don't you get what we're saying? Materials are easier to get, fine. But they took away some of our ability to use them.

Yes because there easier to get! Do you notice how easy it is to stack materials now? Its not just buying them with marks. Dailys can give you 16, certain bounties give you 10. It would allow a person to achieve max 100 marks in the game easily. This design decision is so clear to me i dont understand how people cant see it. Before it was in the game but terribly inefficient. Very vauable material, no alot of valuable materials for a little bit of marks. They completely removed the grinding. Which i love. But dont you see my point of view how this would make all forms of collecting marks (vangaurd) useless and a waste of time. I got 100s of matierals just today. Imagine a week? I maxed out like 5 guns today.

Dude...shut up. You got 5 measly marks for 50 mats. They should've kept it in game. Some people don't like crucible and shouldn't be forced to do it just to buy faction items.

I think your confused, I'm not complaining that they ADDED marks for materials. I'm annoyed that they took away materials for marks. When, if they left it in and removed rep gains, than added the New exchange, not only would it let people continue to play how they choose to, but at a rate of 5 to 1 you could trade the marks you didn't want fot the ones you do. How is any of that a bad thing?
