I discovered this by going to the Crucible Quartermaster and turning in a bunch of things only to have the system boot me and when I come back, my 200 crucible marks are gone and in their place, over 400 Spinmetal. So I'm upset but I assume that at least I'll be able to trade them back. I'll lose some marks in the trade but it won't be a total loss. Except no...no, I can't. The cursed thing only gives materials, doesn't take them. I go to all the other faction people... same story. I loathe PvP (and I tried every kind of match there is and the Iron Banner, so it's not like I'm dismissing it out of hand). I was trading in materials so that I could level up enough to buy weapons and armour which could be dismantled for parts, if need be. Now I can't even do that. It's ridiculous to FORCE an attitude of cooperation on game players. Coercive battling for little or no reward is like being forced to play team sports in high school. It sucked then, it sucks now. I should be allowed to focus on the aspects of this game I enjoy, but instead I am continuously pushed towards PvP. The 7 exotic weapon bounties I got... deleted them, because I'd never be able to get through the parts that require time in the Crucible. There is so much about this game I like, some that I love. But the constant subversive nagging to join Crucible matches is beginning to get to me. Because that's not choosing my destiny, that's submitting to someone else's agenda.

Wow I totally agree with you! I didn't know they removed the material for marks until about a half hour ago when I went to trade some of my 400 helium filaments in for marks. Now my inventory is going to overload with materials and you cannot store ANYTHING in the micro sized 'Vault' they gave us (should be more called a wallet). Bungie please bring this feature back, like others here, I have truly no interest in playing the Crucible other than very rarely in passing.

I feel your pain... I've got almost 700 Spinmetal and 600 helium coils and nothing to spend them on, so the majority are residing in the broom closet they call a vault!

Agreed, the only thing worse right now for me is Hadronic Essence on the XBONE (because I have a warlock there) and Plasteel Plating on the PS4 (because Titan there). I checked, I have 700 Hadronic Essence and 700 Plasteel Plating ... will I make a second Warlock or Titan? Highly unlikely, so that will all go to waste. That all should be transferable to the other class materials so you can at least 'share' that between your characters, even if it is a lower ratio like 1:2 or 1:3.

Thank you for saying what i was thinking and for saying it perfectly!!!!. And of course the roidragers have to jump on here and blast us for not being like them. Let everyone play the way they like. I don't mind if you want to LIVE in crucible with infinitely over powered weapons and abilities that most of us don't seem to be able to aquire. Bothers me that you have same gun i have but it kills in one shot when mine takes ten but i have kept that to myself until now----I'm tired of you kill stealing, rude, egomaniac bullies!!!! So if we wanna play different let us, we put up with you .

Well said and I agree 100% along with countless others. Of course it falls on deaf ears at bungie. Every patch has been about improving pvp game play at the cost of screwing the pve community. I like the game but I should have loved it. Would have too if it had been what they said. Bungie = seller of lies

I can appreciate that... and I absolutely get why people love the Crucible and other forms of PvP... it's just not for me. And I don't want them to take anything away from the Crucible, I just want those of us who prefer PvE to have better options available to us than what we currently have.
