It wasn't meant as a answer to a question Bungie asked. It was an answer to a question you (and others like) asked as to why do it.

Just stop. You're digging yourself in deeper, not pulling yourself out of the hole. They took away something and replaced it with something that is, at best, marginally worse. They could have kept both very easily with a slight tweak but decided not to.

You are just pouting (ie, "laughing your ass off/laughing out loud") that you didn't realize it first. No one is "writing you"; stop being so conceited. They are stating that a choice should have been allowed rather than one thing or the other ONLY.
