You can always do strikes to get Vanguard marks to buy upgrade material. If you don't like doing strikes or crucible than I don't know what to tell you.

I do strikes. But I can't get *crucible* marks. You know, the marks you need for 4/5 factions.

If u want crucible marks than the obvious solution is to play crucible.

A lot of people despise the crucible. Plus it takes forever to get crucible marks at 2 or 3 for each match. It feels like a chore to do one match, let alone fifty. At least they should offer more vanguard vendors or a larger inventory.
