BNG: Why did you remove Materials for Marks?
When I 1st read the patch notes I was excited to see the addition of Marks for Upgrade Materials. Finally I would have something else to spend my excess Vanguard marks on. I always like when games offer you options. If you needed extra marks, you could exchange some materials, now if you need extra materials you could trade in some marks.
Of course, that excitement was quickly dashed when I discovered that you REPLACED the (Materials for Marks) with the (Marks for Materials).
Why? Do you guys have some personal grudge against choices and options? Why does everything have to be [b]one way OR the other[/b]. Why won't you provide multiple options instead of limiting us to just one? Why can't you let your players decide what they prefer to do instead of forcing everything to be all or nothing?
Instead of letting people choose if they want to play PvP or PvE, you seem to be trying to push people into both. * Why not just let people enjoy the parts of Destiny they love without punishing them for it? *
By replacing the material exchange, people have no choice but to run the crucible if they want to purchase anything from the faction vendors. Where before, if you didn't want to run the crucible, you could farm some materials, trade them in for marks, than spend them on the faction vendors.
Well, not anymore...
I just don't understand.
* Why couldn't you just remove the (reputation/glimmer) gains and leave the option to trade materials for marks? At an exchange rate of 5 to 1, would being able to swap one type of Mark for another really have been so bad? *
* You provided so many great new ways to aquire extra materials, than took away the only other feature they could be used for. *

1 ReplyWell yeah the game may have its moments but look how easy it is to get material or marks and another thing think about when the next raid comes what happens when you really need the materials and not have them to upgrade all your weapons

5 RepliesI agree this blows. PvP players have five vendors as opposed to our two. Not only that, but probably a third of exotics are tied to PvP. I was really looking forward to Fate of all Fools. But have you seen the -blam!-ing requirements? Non-stop PvP.

Yeah I didnt even know that they had took that out because I was one of the people who didnt even use that. But yeah it would make sense for them to bring it back since there was a small portion of people, involving yourself, who used that function of the game.

2 RepliesJust rank up the various factions. You get better weapons with random stat & perk rolls than the ones they sell for for marks. Yes they should figure out how to have both but the packages you get from postmaster are actually pretty good.

I seriously would like it if they atleast gave crucible marks upload completion of crucible bounties. I've played control, and lost all my matches to get a whopping 6 marks... Now I'm not the best, but I'm never on a good team... At this rate, pvp is pointless. I'm barely rank one!

8 RepliesMaterials should never be used to buy something earned in PvP. I made a post stating this fact. Now that it is easier to purchase 20 materials of a specified amount it would cheese the Mats for Marks system. I suggested that Factions (Not counting Crucible) should allow individuals to make Purchase with BOTH Vanguard Marks or Crucible Marks. Seeing as Factions dish out missions on Patrol it would make sense from a PvE stand point. This is a far better compromise that should be implemented asap. I hope you can all agree.

I dont want forced down a path, if you want me there you need to make it more APPEALING. I like playing this game the way i choose, not being forced into PVP.

Idk We got a step back but bungie added 10 steps forward and people complain about that one step even though it makes perfect sense.

Maybe they're changing a lot of flawed mechanics that for some reason people have grown to love. Maybe leaving the materials/marks exchange in with the marks/materials exchange would create an "exploitable" loop. Maybe the gear you're so in love with is actually obsolete to the PVE raid gear you actually SHOULD be focusing on. If the biggest thing you're getting from destiny is running around in circles collecting things, then you're playing the wrong game. Like sincerely, from one gamer to another, there are other games out there you [i]will[/i] enjoy a whole lot more. People seem to like to tout this "Bungie won't let me play it MY way!" attitude, and that isn't without its merit in some cases, but with [i]this[/i]?? You're [i]really[/i] here to invest loads of time in farming materials with the primary intention of spending them in literally the most inefficient way possible?
