I don't know if anyone here ever played a game called chromehounds. A mech game, but one where your wins and losses and those of thousands of others made a real difference. Areas (and access to those areas) would be won and lost. Certain series of events would trigger massive enemies, but incredibly rarely. When they popped up you would drop whatever you were doing to get online. I was hoping for something similar with destiny. That in attacking the hive we would weaken it, giving the fallen a chance to take over their territory or perhaps the vex would invade ours. You'd never know what to expect when you patrolled Venus, it might be cabal you run into. When running a strike to the summoning pits under vex control it would be a different boss. Same maps (that we all know so well) but a different experience every time and the feeling that we were important, part of something bigger than a fire team, that we were guardians. Oh, and I want a gjallarhorn

This idea is awesome! Make tge world breath. Could be done server side, this wouldcmake stuff way better, there r events similar to what u described, though they do not affect the world around us once ur done. These events start an all out war between two factions in a given area when eventually hords of ultras bliz your ass. You dont get a thing from bearing through these but they are cool and fun to be in. Also a dungeon type mission with daily or weekly loot cycles (for materials ) was suggested a couple of days ago. These could be random generated creep spawns or rooms, with increased lvl for each wave. These would make spending time in this world bungie created way more fun.

  • The only problem I can see with that is, what about when you're on Mars, and for you the vex have completely taken it over (the cabal are on Venus or something), another player that that hasn't happened to shows up, and cabal starts spawning even though they left. (Sorry if that didn't make any sense. I really didn't know how to word it.)

  • Outside of the story it would be the same for everyone. The actions and inactions of all guardians would affect the game world as a whole. The forums could be used to convince and motivate players to focus their attentions on one target.

  • I would absolutely love massive events. Getting to invite literally all your friends to participate in a massive battle would be mind blowing. Like starting at the beginning point on the moon and having to push back the hive all the way into phogoth's lair and ending with a super huge battle in there would be just like hnnnnnnnnnnnnng. Not only that, it would be an amazing way to get loot. And I want one too, but I think Xur will be selling Icebreaker this week. #wishfulthinking

  • I need an icebreaker, so that's fine with me. The great thing about RNGesus is that it's rare xur hasn't got something that's new to me.
