I sense sarcasm. Again, people want to feel the experience. It doesn't have to feel like your in a real battle environment, but they still want to feel some of the adrenaline that comes with it.
Call of Duty's story is good at getting your adrenaline going.
Destiny only really provides this feeling in the raid.

Ha! Right on. Here is the experience then: Wake up at 05:00 and pack everything you own on your back. Go to your front yard, dump all your stuff, and now sit on your stuff and smoke cigarettes for the next 12 hours. Then pick up all your stuff, have a few friends cram into your car with their stuff, drive down the block, dump all your stuff, and now sit on your stuff and smoke cigarettes for the next 12 hours in this new location. Welcome to the military experience. I don't think CoD wants to capture that.
