IB Rewards Gheleons Demise

This is possibly the most aptly named weapon in the game. After toiling all week during banner I felt proud to finally own this legendary scout rifle and spent many a note of light reforming it to my liking. My experience since then with this weapon in PvP has been shocking to say the least. It is perhaps not unfair to think that this should be the best PvP scout rifle in the game considering the prerequisites required for its acquisition. This is however far from the case. With all of the IB weapons as far as I am aware, bungie has decided to stack range and impact for as the superior stats at the cost of fire rate, stability etc. in my opinion, considering the vast majority of maps and the current state of the Meta, this has relegated almost all of the weapons to the 'dont bother' pile. My justification for this statement comes from both the small, cover driven maps (especially after blind watch was ruined by covering all viable sniper spots and by reducing the frequency of first light and bastion) and the current state of the meta, with max agility blinking hunters/charging Titans with shotguns. These two factors being considered, it is extremely hard to get sights on someone with sufficient range to be able to get two head shots AND a body shot before they close you and shotgun you in the face. The slow rate of fire also makes you easy meat for anyone with a fusion rifle. The lack of maps allowing the long range and high impact with the slow rate of fire to actually be an advantage make Gheleon's Demise the demise of your own PvP scores. You are much better of with a scout rifle with higher stability and a higher rate of fire, such as the crypt dweller, which is a shame considering bungie sells the IB weapons as the top tier for PvP. Truth be told, any situation where the extra range and impact would put you at an advantage, any sniper will outperform you every time with one headshot or two body shots all that is required for the kill, as opposed to 2 head shots and a body shot or 4-5 body shots required from Gheleon's Demise. Please fix bungie.
